We appreciate your participation in Mandy News’ 3 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Breakthrough, during which we beg God to unlock any doors that have been closed against us.
As you are aware, one of the reasons we started this website was to help people positively in any way we could, mostly in the areas of health and beauty, religion and spirituality, and advice and information.
Recently, we noticed many of our readers are going through a lot of hardship, and many are anxious for breakthroughs.
One thing you should know is that God wants us to be freed from all forms of oppression and that we need breakthroughs in whatever we do in life.
As a result, from Monday, November 14 through Wednesday, November 16, we will spend time with God in prayer without access to food or water.
Jesus is the best example we have when it comes to setting aside time for prayer and fasting.
In order to spend 40 days in close communication with His Father, our Lord separated from people and the quick and smooth pace of life (Matt. 4:1–11).
We shall join the other Mandy News readers in praying for God’s mercy and grace throughout these three days in order to achieve success in all aspects of our lives.
We have compiled a daily list of prayer ideas for the three days to serve as a guide for your 3 days of prayer and fasting, and we also value your testimonies in the comment section.
Keep in mind that the three days of fasting and prayer are from 6 am to 4 pm each day.
Guide To The Basics Of Fasting And Prayer
Why You Should Fast
Fasting is a practice that the Bible frequently uses to help us get ready for the next stage of our spiritual growth.
- Before a major project. Nehemiah fasted and prayed before setting out to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 1:4).
- Before a time of spiritual renewal. “Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly” (Joel 2:15–16a).
- Moses fasted for 40 days in preparation for receiving the Ten Commandments (Exodus 34:28).
- Daniel fasted for three weeks before receiving his vision (Daniel 10:2–6).
- Elijah fasted for 40 days before receiving fresh direction from God (1 Kings 19:8).
- The church fasted in preparation to launch into a new season of planting other churches (Acts 13:2-3).
- JESUS fasted for 40 days in preparation for HIS NEW SEASON OF PUBLIC MINISTRY (Matthew 4:1–11).
We at Mandy News are fasting for three days in an effort to spiritually unlock all of the doors that have been closed against us.
Limitations Of Fasting
Fasting can disturb sleep and raise stress levels. Headaches can also result from dehydration, hunger, or a lack of sleep during a fasting period. Heartburn can also result from fasting because it reduces stomach acid, which breaks down food and kills microorganisms.
Before beginning a fast, speak with your doctor if you have a medical condition that might prevent you from doing so.
What Is Fast?
The definition of the term “fast” in the dictionary is to “suffer hunger” or “abstain from food or drink.” There are more than 100 verses in the Bible that discuss fasting.
Fasting is the intentional denial of food or liquids for a set amount of time. Its goal is to more fervently seek God in certain matters.
Types Of Fasting You Should Do
Although the Bible includes a variety of fasts, we are urging our team to observe a liquid fast to sanctify Moody’s autumn semester. We forego all solid foods and consume only liquids during this type of fast, such as juices, broth, and water. We also try to cut out any excess activities that are not necessary for fulfilling our daily obligations. The main goal is to set aside time for more focused and intentional prayer.
Food For Breaking Fast
Light fruit, like watermelon, or a smoothie are the best foods to break a fast with. This is allowing your body to reacquaint itself with food before starting on solid foods. Usually, you have to wait two to three hours after consuming fruit or a smoothie before reintroducing solid food.
Bible Verses:
- Genesis 26:1-6; 12-14;
- Deuteronomy 8:7-9; 17-18;
- Psalm 1:1-3;
- Isaiah 48:17;
- Proverbs 10:22;
- Proverbs 22:29.
- I Chronicles 29:11-12;
