The Canadian government has announced that it will open its borders with a travel ban on 10 African countries to fully vaccinated travelers and pre-arrival testing starting on Saturday, December 18.
Weeks after the Omicron variant instigated the Canadian government to close its borders to African travelers from countries including Botswana, Egypt, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, and the largest black nation in the world, Nigeria restrictions have been eased, no longer be barred from entering Canada.
Beginning Saturday, bans on travel from the countries listed above are over. Canada will allow in African travelers, but they must be tested on arrival — with fully vaccinated.
