At least 8 people dead on Sunday crashed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippine airport officials confirm no survivors following Manila crash including a Canadian.

In a by Philippine Senator Richard J. Gordon tweet sighted by Mandy News confirmed that medical and fire teams were on-route to Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminal 2 to respond to the plane crash.

“Our fire and medic teams were already dispatched to NAIA Terminal 2 to respond to the plane crash incident involving Lion Air Flight RPC 5880. 8 passengers consisting of a flight medic, nurse, doctor, three flight crew, one patient and its companion were on board.”

“The plane caught fire and exploded as it was taking off the NAIA runway 24,” the senator said.

Philippine red cross also confirmed in a tweet said: “Est. Passengers: 8 (flight medic, a nurse, a doctor, three flight crews, a patient & a companion of the patient)

– 1 Fire truck with 7 crew
– 2 ambulances with 7 medical personnel”
