The social media has been abuzz with the viral picture of Yusuf Alabi, a young boy who bravely stood in front of the moving convoy of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos.
The young boy, hailing from Ibadan in southwestern Nigeria, has been gaining widespread recognition on social media with his images being circulated and celebrated. Rich individuals from all over the country have come forward to offer assistance, and he has also been fortunate enough to receive a free scholarship from the generous Obi Cubana.
On the other hand, the supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) are sharing a collage image on social media featuring Peter Obi alongside another boy and Alabi Yusuf, claiming that the entire incident was pre-planned and that Peter Obi was already acquainted with the boy before the event.
A particular image that was shared on Twitter garnered over 450,000 views within a span of 12 hours. The said image supposedly depicts Peter Obi and Yusuf Alabi with a young boy situated on the right-hand side of the collage.
“Bursted!” reads the February 13 post’s caption. “The iconic picture was planned!”
However, upon closer examination of the boys featured in the collage photo, it is apparent that they do not resemble each other. One appears to be a young boy from southeastern Nigeria, while the other hails from southwestern Nigeria. In addition, it was discovered that one of the boys resides in the United States, while the other lives on the streets of Lagos.
Mandy News made an attempt to contact the individual who shared the post for comment, but there has been no response yet. However, the comments section of the post is filled with insults directed towards people who have challenged the false claims made by the user.
It has been revealed that the image of the boy from southeastern Nigeria was actually taken during Peter Obi’s visit to Atlanta, Georgia, and his name is Udechukwu Ike. According to his parents, they had met Peter Obi a few years ago, effectively debunking the viral claims that the incident of Yusuf Alabi was pre-planned.

After conducting a thorough investigation, it has been revealed that the claims made by supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) concerning the incident involving Yusuf Alabi and Peter Obi are false. The collage photo that has been circulating on social media is misleading, and the young boy featured alongside Peter Obi and Yusuf Alabi is someone entirely different. The image was taken during Peter Obi’s visit to Atlanta, Georgia, and the boy’s name is Udechukwu Ike, who met Peter Obi a few years ago.
