The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the arrest of Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, following a viral video showing Kuti assaulting a uniformed police officer.

“The IGP has ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.”

Official Statement

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was disclosed that the IGP has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, to apprehend Kuti for his actions.

The IGP has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that justice is served, promising a swift investigation into the incident. He has also vowed to prosecute Kuti if found guilty.
