The report that the United States has resumed drop box applications in Nigeria has given plenty of joyful celebration and also led to tribal war on Twitter.
The Claim: A publication made by Otuya Daniel in the street journal on 26 January stated that the “US resumes drop box application in Nigeria.”

The report was quickly picked up by social media users and some bloggers, who gave credit to the street journal and applaud the US consulate.
A Twitter user from the United States created a Space insulting Nigerians, he claimed that the citizens of the most populous black nation on earth have stolen all their jobs. He added that the citizens are not black “you are Nigerian”.
Others seemed more skeptical about the angry Tariq, questioning whether someone took his girlfriend or just a rant for engagement that has now taken all over the Twitter trend chart.
A Nigerian Food Connoisseur, Samuel Otigba, shared a blog post from Chronicle NG culled from the street journal which says dropbox application is available in Nigeria.

What Is Dropbox Visa Appointment?
The dropbox visa application allows visa processing to go through without an interview. It means as an applicant if you are eligible you can submit an application and all required documents into a “Dropbox” and expect the visa to be approved and mailed to your residence.
The blog post was trending on the giant microblogging platform along with secure the tribe —a space talking about how immigrants are blocking opportunities for Black Americans.
The Fact:
There’s no notice in the Nigeria US embassy visa application website that indicates “Applying for a Visa without an Interview“.
However, the United States has authorized 48 months for dropbox eligibility instead of 12 months until Dec 31, 2022, due to the COVID-19 predicament to 4 countries including China, India, Mexico, and Australia.
