
Iran’s vice president for women and family affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar, has tested positive for
the novel coronavirus, Fariba Ibtihaj reveals on Thursday (Febuary 27)
Adviser to Ebtekar’s Fariba Ibtihaj who spoke with news agency said the vice president tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
“Everyone in the vice president’s team was also tested and the results will be available on Saturday,” she said.
Ebtekar is not the first high-ranking Iranian official to contract the coronaviru.
Chairman of Iran Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Mojtaba Zonnour announced he was infected with coronavirus on Febuary 27 and deputy health minister Iraj Harirchi who also tested positive for the COVID-19 on Tuesday.
According to the new report 106 new cases and 7 new deaths hits Iran with total number of affected 245 people.
