Liz Truss is the new UK Prime Minister.

The British Conservative Party named Liz Truss as its new leader on Monday, September 5, making her the country’s new prime minister as a result.

She received more than 81,000 valid votes (57.4%), compared to just over 60,000 for Rishi Sunak (42.6%).

In the final round of the internal election for the Conservative Party, she defeated Rishi Sunak. Sunak, an Indian-born politician who served as finance minister under Boris Johnson, gave up a successful financial career that includes employment at Goldman Sachs and the hedge fund TCI in order to enter politics in 2015.

Elizabeth “Liz” Truss, who once portrayed Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in a school play, is a fan and aspires to become the third woman to lead the UK government. She will serve as president up until the upcoming elections in 2024.

According to a video obtained by MandyNews.com, Liz Truss addressed the crowd at the Conservative Party gathering after being named the United Kingdom’s new prime minister to outline her intentions and express gratitude to her supporters.

“Friends and colleagues, thank you for putting your faith in me to lead our great Conservative Party, the greatest political party on Earth. It is an honor to be the leader of this party,” she said.

Liz used this opportunity to congratulate her rivals, give her family and Boris Johnson some praise.

“Boris, you got Brexit. You crushed Jeremy Corbyn, you launched the vaccine. And you stood up to Vladimir Putin. You were admired from Kiev to Carlisle,” she declared.

Liz Truss made bolder and more effective planning promises for the upcoming two years running up to the 2024 elections.

“I’m going to deliver a bold plan to cut taxes and grow our economy. I’m going to respond to the energy crisis by dealing with people’s energy bills, but also by dealing with the long-term issues we have about energy supplies,” she said.

Liz Truss declared during her run for prime minister that she planned to reduce taxes by focusing more on the nation’s growing energy needs.

In addition, she supports the net zero plan, which attempts to lessen the Britain’s dependence on non-renewable energy, particularly the oil-based variety.

At around 12 p.m. GMT, the new prime minister makes his way back to London to give a speech in Downing Street.

On Wednesday morning, before the new prime minister enters the House of Commons for an interview with Labor Party opposition leader Keir Starmer, the new cabinet will be named. The new team of ministers will also assemble.
