The coffin carrying the body of Queen Elizabeth II left Balmoral Castle, where she passed away, and started the journey to Edinburgh’s Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The procession, which began on Sunday, September 11, shortly after six in the morning, is expected to travel 280 kilometres and arrive at its destination in about six hours.

The Royal Family’s official website and Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday, September 10 that Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral will be held on September 19.
The announcement also states that the queen’s casket will proceed by car to Edinburgh, where it will arrive at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. There, it will remain in the Throne Room until the afternoon of next Monday.
