A man with an AR-15 rifle was taken down by a security guard in Buffalo, New York, after he entered a methadone clinic, and the incident was caught on camera.
The guard is currently receiving appreciation on all social media channels.
The now-viral video captures the moment the man entered the clinic and fired a gun before Reynaldo Beckford, a security guard, aggressively engaged him in combat and took the gun away from him.
In an interview with WKBW-TV, Beckford described the entire situation and the thoughts that were going through his head when the man with the weapon showed up at Hispanics United of Buffalo in New York.
“My back was turned to the door, and when I turned, I saw in the corner of my eye I saw was the person and the rifle,” the guard said.
“At that moment, I couldn’t believe what was happening, especially when he let off the first shot, and that’s when I knew that something was definitely wrong,” he added.
Before he receives assistance from a different security officer, Beckford is seen in the video battling with the man to get the rifle. An additional building janitor then intervened in the situation.
