The #OneChipChallenge videos, which have gone viral and are purportedly putting people in hospitals, are one of the most popular games on social media right now.

Despite the fact that videos of the challenge are everywhere, people often do not understand what the “one chip challenge” is.

Nobody ever talks about the truth behind the Paqui One Chip Challenge.

We highly recommend you to read through this article so you know what is one chip challenge, and the danger of one chip challenge and side effects.

Our hope is that this article will encourage you to stay away from participating in the challenge.

What is one chip challenge?

The Paqui company, which makes flavored tortilla chips, introduced a viral food challenge, a periodic online dare, and each time it introduces a new, hot chip.

The Carolina Reaper Chip, which is possibly one of the hottest of all time, features in the 2022 One Chip Challenge.

  • “This year’s high voltage chip contains the super-charged Carolina Reaper Pepper and stinging Scorpion Pepper with a shocking twist, it’ll turn your tongue BLUE,” the Paqui website reads.

The challenge encourages participants to finish the full chip, wait as long as they can before drinking or eating anything, and then share their impressions online.

Is one chip challenge dangerous?

I’ll answer “yes” based on what we’ve seen on social media. It is a social media challenge known as the Paqui One Chip Challenge to eat one spicy tortilla chip.

The substance derived from natural sources in chili peppers, capsaicin, is contained in the chip. Consuming capsaicin frequently causes mouth and throat irritation, but it can also lead to more serious health problems like heart attack and esophageal damage.

Is the One Chip Challenge safe?

The one-chip challenge is unsafe for your health, as we said above. People who took part in the Paqui One Chip Challenge frequently feel digestive discomfort as well as oral irritation, pain, or burning.

Consuming capsaicin can potentially result in more severe health issues, such as heart palpitations, chest pain, and even heart attacks. Larger doses of capsaicin can also result in frequent vomiting, which can endanger your life by damaging your esophagus.

One chip challenge hospitalization

There have been numerous instances of people who took part in the one chip challenge ending up in the hospital.

The first instance of the challenge, is a 15-year-old boy who ate the Carolina Reaper pepper.

He experienced a terrible headache and elevated blood pressure during football practice two days later.

He took acetaminophen (Tylenol®), and when the headache continued, he visited an ED.

He was initially identified as having a sinus infection at the ED and was sent home with antibiotics. He returned to the ED because the headache persisted and got worse over the course of a few days. An MRI there revealed an abnormal narrowing of the arteries in his brain. After more tests came up empty, it was determined that the man had cerebral vasoconstriction caused by eating hot peppers, which is reversible. He fully recovered and was released.

The second problem involves a 25-year-old male who experienced acute chest pain five days after beginning a new weight-loss regimen that includes taking cayenne pepper pills daily.

He visited an ED and was given the diagnosis of having a heart attack, which was thought to be caused by his recurrent consumption of cayenne pepper that contained capsaicin. He was subsequently admitted to the hospital and given aspirin, blood thinners, and painkillers as treatment. Thankfully, he fully recovered and experienced no more chest problems.

Warning on one chip challenge

Medical professionals and people who have participated in the spicy challenge on social media are urging people to avoid the potentially harmful trend, which has reportedly taken some people, including children, to the hospital in severe pain.

The Georgia Poison Control Center’s Dr. Gaylord Lopez also issued a warning that eating the chips could have dangerous consequences.

On the internet, there are a ton of videos that show the harm that the one-chip challenge has caused to both girls and boys.

According to KBTX, one Texas student even passed out and started convulsing in his classroom.

A TikTok user by the name of angela posted a now-viral video of her niece in the hospital after taking the challenge.

The video has received 12 million views and inspired a number of additional videos that describe the terrifying situation.

In the footage, the girl can be seen slamming her feet and waving her hands.

Mandy News learned that the young girl had bet $50 that she would eat the chip. The burn got worse over time and eventually brought her to pain.
