Edwin Chiloba, a Kenyan advocate for gay rights, was killed in a viral video with his body being stuffed inside a metallic box.
The death of model and LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba was under investigation by the Kenyan police as of January 4th.
According to the information gathered by MandyNews.com, Chiloba was found dead on the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road in Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu, with his body placed inside a metal box.
The metal box was reportedly witnessed being dropped in the vicinity by a car without a license plate, according to the police’s preliminary investigations.
Police officers who were guarding a nearby roadblock were informed of the incident. The police left their station and sped over to the incident. When the package was opened, a man’s corpse wearing a woman’s clothing was discovered inside.
It was then confirmed that the deceased person was the gay rights advocate and fashion designer.
He was then laid to rest at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital while an autopsy was performed to determine the reason for his death so that an investigation could begin. A well-known LGBTQ rights activist in the nation was Chiloba.
The Kenyan Police Force’s spokesperson, Resila Onyango, said they don’t yet know what caused the death.
- “We don’t know for now why he was killed that way. Experts are handling the matter,” she said.
Edwin uploaded the horrifying images above on Instagram at the beginning of July 2022 after being attacked and assaulted, presumably because of who he was and his work in gender-fluid design and content.
The video is currently trending on Twitter and is really shocking to watch.
