Powerball quick pick

Five numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball from 1 to 26, picked at random. Choose "with hot numbers" to include two of the current hot numbers.

How Powerball works

Powerball is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. You pick five white numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball from 1 to 26. A ticket costs $2. Match all six for the jackpot: the odds are 1 in 292,201,338, and the odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 24.9.

Do hot numbers help?

No. Each draw is independent, so a number that came up often is no more likely to come up again, and an overdue number is not "due". The tables show what happened, which many players enjoy using to choose numbers. The only real way to improve your chance of a shared jackpot not being split is to avoid popular picks such as birthdays (1 to 31).

Where the numbers come from

Results come from the official Powerball winning numbers published by New York State on data.ny.gov. Hot and cold use the last 100 draws; overdue uses every draw since Wed, Oct 7, 2015, when the current white-ball range began. Always check your ticket against your state lottery's official results.
