Onome Oyaide, well known as Big Tyme, died on Sunday, May 1st, according to his friends.
Big Tyme, best known as a presenter on Rhythm Fm passed away on International Workers’ Day.
The cause of death for the much-loved on-air personality remains unknown.
His death was said to be sudden, and it came as a shock because he was on Twitter the night before.
His friend, Osi Osuave, confirmed the sad news in a statement: “I’m still in shock over Onome’s death. He was okay yesterday as he was even active on social media. It’s heartbreaking to hear of his demise.”
Banky W once had a line for him in his song where he said, “Like Rhythm FM, I’m so Big Tyme.”
Vector also had a word play on him with his song with AQ (Distraction): “My rhythm is doing it big time, Onome Oyaide.”
Until he died, Onome Oyaide was crowned by Osi as one of the most influential radio presenters of my generation.
