Nigerian musician WizKid has arrived in Uganda ahead of his mega live concert tomorrow at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The multi-award winning musician was scheduled to arrive in the country yesterday but organisers informed the impatient fans that the ‘Karo’ singer would be jetting in the country today, Wednesday.

Wizkid has promised to deliver the best performance for his fans

The 27-year-old afropop musician recently became the first African to win the Best International Act Award at Music of Black Origin (MOBO), ironic, isn’t it?

In an arrival interview with NBS TV’s Pundonor show host Agatha, Wizkid said he felt amazing being in Uganda and was thankful for the fans’ patience. “I feel amazing and feel great that I’m hear. I want to thank my fans for being patient with me,” Wizkid says

On why he didn’t make it to the country last year, Wizkid says that “We had a lot to deal with but it wasn’t my fault. I had it in my mind to make it down hear”

“Wizkid Was Just One Of The Realest People That I’ve Met In The Music Game” – Ty Dolla $ign

If you follow Ty Dolla $ign and Wizkid, you’ll realize that they are actually tight friends.

They have been working on hit songs progressively. These include “Dirty Wine” and “One For Me”, off the Nigerian star’s Sounds From The Other Side album.

They’ve also been featured together by Kranium on his smash “Can’t Believe” track. It is undoubtedly one of the biggest Caribbean songs of the year.

I had a quick talk with the artiste when he was in Kenya for the 2017 #JamesonConnect concert and he dished out on how he and Wizkid met. It was actually quite interesting.

“He’s just a real one. When I first met him with Chris Brown, we were working on a Chris Brown song and then I got his number and we just kept on connecting on some regular sh*t…like not even music…he was just one of the realest people I’ve met in the music game so that’s like my bro.”

The two hang out a lot and seem to have a lot of projects coming up. The #JamesonConnect concert goes down on 2nd Dec, 2017. Performing alongside him will be Nasty C, who has recently been riding high with his “Particula” collaboration with Major Lazer and DJ Maphorisa.

Local acts Khaligraph Jones, Kagwe Mungai and The Kansol are also set to perform alongside DJs Jack Rooster, Burn, Bash, Kace, Mellow and DJ Butch Norman at what will be the fourth edition of the Jameson Connects Experience.

See you there!

Shatta Wale Warns Wizkid And Nigerians (Video)

Award winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, says Nigerian musician Wizkid is not a superstar.

Shatta in an interview with Kasapa fm says he doesn’t see anything extraordinary about wizkid. This, he said was contrary to the popular notion most of his colleagues have about the artist.

“We are living a life where upcoming youths are watching people get surprised of my achievement because they don’t have mind to elevate themselves.

“I don’t see wizkid to be too much for me but most of my ghanaians and ghanaian colleagues see him like that.

“But i want wizkid to see me and be like wow not otherwise because what is talking is your pocket, property, investment.

“I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste.

“Don’t come and wear a chain which is fake and come and say we the biggest artistes in Africa ,we are number 1.

Wizkid Dumps L.A.X From His Label, Starboy Record

Starboy chief, Wizkid has parted ways with his protege, L.A.X after he didn’t renew his contract with the label upon expiry.

Back in August 2013, Wizkid had announced on twitter that he signed L.A.X to his Starboy Records. Fast forward to December 2014, L.A.X, in an exclusive interview said, ‘I have a record label deal with Starboy to release two albums in a duration of two years.‘
So according to calculations this contract ended in 2015, without the release of the two album as promised

To confirm this, during his acceptance speech at the 17th Ghana Music Awards early in 2016, where he won the African Artiste of the Year Award, Nigerian pop star, Wizkid made a special announcement unveiling three new acts under his Starboy Entertainment Worldwide, they include, Eyfa, R2Bees and Mr Eazi with L.A.X failing to get any mention.

L.A.X put spark to the report by not using any Starboy logo or identity in his new video, Awon Da also removing all Starboy Records mentioned on his social media.

Even his manager, Remi Oyedipe, who has managed L.A.X since 2010, signed a new management deal with Gas promotions that has no affiliation to Starboy.

The future might look bleak for L.A.X, but Nigerian stars who have previously been let off by their old labels, always find away to bounce back in the game, we only hope he can do it soon, as the music scene tend to forget faces fast.
