FBI Arrests APC Member, Abidemi Rufai Over N145m Fraud

WASHINGTON (MANDY NEWS) – The FBI has arrested a Nigeria APC member for allegedly stealing more than $350,000 (N145m) in fraudulent unemployment benefits.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Abidemi Rufai was defrauding the unemployment benefits from the Washington State.

How was Abidemi Rufai arrested?

Rufai was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York while he was trying to exit from the country.

Why was Abidemi Rufai arrested?

The U.S. attorneys said Mr Abidemi stole the identities of more than 100 resident in Washington state to convey unemployment benefits into his own bank account from the Washington state’s Employment Security Department.
