Edo State, Nigeria — October 25, 2025
Aisha Wahab, the young woman kidnapped in Edo State last week, has reportedly regained her freedom after her family paid the full ransom of ₦20 million, according to activist Harrison Gwamnishu and Davido’s logistics manager Israel DMW.

What Happened
Aisha Wahab was abducted on her way to Igbira Camp in Auchi, Edo State, by suspected armed kidnappers.
A disturbing video released by her captors earlier this week showed her pleading for her life, as the kidnappers demanded ₦20 million for her release and threatened to kill her if the ransom was not met by a 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline.
The Release
On Saturday, multiple social-media posts, including one by human-rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, confirmed that Aisha Wahab had been released by her abductors after the full ransom amount was paid.
“Aishatu has just been released by her captors after paying the complete ₦20 million. No kobo was deducted,” a message shared online read.
“The family has just confirmed her release to me. Pray never to experience abduction.”
While details of the rescue remain limited, family sources reportedly verified that the payment was made in full before she was freed. There are no immediate reports of any arrests linked to the abduction.
Who Confirmed It
The confirmation was echoed by Israel DMW, the logistics manager for music star Davido, who also posted about Aisha’s release on social media.
Both Gwamnishu and Israel have previously been involved in using their platforms to raise awareness about kidnapping victims across Nigeria.
