A report says another Christian girl was nearly lynched by a group of Muslim protesters in Sokoto, and some of the encounter was caught on video.
A Grassroot reporter took to Twitter to share a video of the moment a young girl was attacked while Muslims were protesting in the extreme northwest of Nigeria.
On Saturday morning, a large number of Muslim youths in Sokoto State took to the streets to protest the state government’s refusal to free those detained in connection with Deborah Yakubu’s death.
Deborah Yakubu, a 200-level female student at Shehu Shagari College of Education, was lynched and killed before his body was burned for alleged blasphemy.
During the protest, another girl was allegedly accused of blasphemy by a mob while marching across Gao-Nama northward flyover within the state city.
In the video sighted by MandyNews, the young girl can be seen lying on the ground with a green dress.
The girl, who is said to also belong to the body of Christ, was about to be lynched before some older men intervened to save her.
