Awards season rolls on, with the Ballon D’or Awards right around the corner on November 29 And after more than six decades of football celebrating its own on the industry’s biggest night.
In October, the event organiser France Football magazine released the list of nominations for the 2021 Ballon D’or Awards. And they’re pretty damn good! Cesar Azpilicueta, Nicolo Barella, Karim Benzema, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Bruno Fernandes, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jorginho, Harry Kane, N’Golo Kante, Simon Kjaer, Robert Lewandowski, Romelu Lukaku, Riyad Mahrez, Lautaro Martinez, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Gerard Moreno, Mason Mount, Neymar, Pedri, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez.! It’s a very promising list of worthy players.
Who Will Win Ballon D’or 2021
In a perfect world: This is not easy, because, in the 30-man list, there are five strong, worthy contenders in the Ballon D’or 2021 between Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe, and, Neymar. All five footballers performed well in the last 12 months. Just looking at the past few years of Ballon D’or winners, I do think Messi has a real opportunity to win here, a footballer with impeccable records. As game-changing as Mbappe’s is, he is primed for wins at Ballon D’or future, and this year could be too much too soon. So, I’d have to say that in a perfect world, Messi would win this. Because Messi’s role in winning Copa America is why he’s the favourite to win the 2021 ballon d’Or. It’s not “favouritism,” as people are calling it. It’s an extraordinary work rate to beat Brazil in a final in Rio de Janeiro. Naming Messi’s Ballon D’or 2021 winner, would be a decision we can all applaud.
We say: Lionel Messi
How the France football will ruin it: Just watch them give it to Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe, or, Neymar.
