LAGOS, Nigeria โ Nigerian superstar Davido has released his highly-anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Timeless,’ on March 31, 2023, through Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment. The album features 17 tracks and includes collaborations with international artists such as Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, Focalistic, and The Cavemen.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, officially announced the album’s release date on Instagram on March 21, 2023. This marked Davido’s return to social media following a hiatus to mourn the loss of his three-year-old son. The artist briefly resurfaced during his performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.
To promote the album, a captivating trailer showcasing tour footage and behind-the-scenes clips accompanied the announcement. In the video, Davido can be seen penning a heartfelt note as he narrates the journey leading up to the album’s creation. He cites the book of Ecclesiastes as a source of inspiration for the album, emphasizing the idea that there is a time for everything.
Davido revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that the album was almost complete by June 2022.
