The monarch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, is falsely claiming that the INEC permanent voter cards (PVCs) have expired. This claim arises from political lies and is not based on fact.

The video of the false claim can be seen here.

Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor who spread misinformation that the permanent voter cards (PVCs) issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission expired, claimed that the commission might not announce it on time but the PVCs have expired and can’t be used in 2023.

Mahmood Yakubu, the current chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said in a reaction to Tinubu’s claim on January 19, 2022: “ “This information is not correct. The PVC issued to all previously registered voters remains valid. This kind of statement will certainly push eligible voters to register more than once thereby creating the problem of double and multiple registrations.”

MANDY NEWS fact-checked Tinubu’s claim.

It seems the Nigerian politician is trying to trick people out to register for PVCs so they can have more PVCs to support him come 2023 and he forgot that double registration is an offence under INEC laws.

VERDICT

False. There is no evidence that former U.S. President Donald Trump will be reinstated on Aug. 13, 2021.
