At least two persons were reportedly shot and killed in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday by security operatives attached to Gboyega Oyetola, BBC reported that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was addressing the protesters when shots were fired. He twote: “All efforts to talk sense into the arrowheads, who are mostly abroad and the few in their high estates have proven abortive. I believe everyone is matured enough to face the consequences of their actions.”

He added: “I don’t know who is fooling you. #EndSARs as an objective ended the moment the Govt dissolved the Unit. The focus is now on monitoring the implementation of the laws towards #ReformPoliceNG. The agenda of the smugglers failed. ”

The demonstrators have been largely peaceful across the country and have included musicians, actresses, actors, traders, off-duty lawyers and lines of mothers.

Recall when the protest started Nigerian singer Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz said that he is not backing down on the protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) that is going to be peaceful.

He said: “No going back, no backing down. We have put up with this menace for too long. Young innocent lives are being cut short too often. So much harassment, so much extortion. It’s time to #ENDSARS for good.”

From what we understand, many protesters had remained peaceful.

According to the Nigerian government, “The protest cannot be said to be peaceful when innocent people are losing their lives and Nigerians are being prevented from going to their places of work where they earn their living.”

Mr. Lai also claimed that they have received petitions from various groups dissociating themselves from the #EndSARS protests. “They have also become victims of the protest and they could not go to work and market while many stores have been looted.”
