The video of Bola Ahmed Tinubu working out after a protracted absence from the public is being shared with a misleading claim.

A video showing the former governor of Lagos State working out with an indoor exercise bike is going viral all over the Internet.

The video shows the 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) exercising himself while listening to the latest trending song by Asake. He was wearing a black dress, looking smart and posing in the mood of “I’m ready to serve”.

The 70-year-old politician is using the clip as part of a new campaign video to show his mockers that he is strong and healthy.

However, the video was made with the intention of informing individuals who had heard that the self-described Jagaban was ill and being treated in a London hospital when it was first broadcast on October 2.

Claim: This is the assertion that was tweeted along with the video. The caption, which was shared in English, says:

“Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well… Nope. This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am READY to serve Nigerians from Day One.”

Despite the fact that the video is currently making wave online, opposition supporters claimed that it was already uploaded years before.

A few of them took a screenshot of the footage and utilized Internet tools to look for the image, which indicates that the video was likely uploaded to the internet many years ago.

Therefore, the younger generations who are opposed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for president are now rejoicing and criticizing his team for misleading Nigerians by publishing an antiquated video.

They even went so far as to challenge a news outlet, thenewsguru, claiming that the man had removed an old video that they claimed he had posted in 2018.

Because of this, “the news guru workout archives” has become a popular search term on Google.

The site’s owner has also posted a disclaimer stating that it didn’t post a video of Tinubu in 2018 and he didn’t delete any of his videos.

Investigation: We found numerous URLs and rich snippets that displayed the clip with a backdate after checking the video’s specifics. “Akeredolu Peter Temidayo (Apt)” appears in the video’s title, which Google indexed from Twitter.

The algorithm has been updated, and as of the time of this report, it appears that everything has been fixed.

Akeredolu Peter Temidayo is being dragged online by young Nigerians who support the opposition party and say he removed an old video from his Twitter account.

Conclusion: So, the claim that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu workout video was posted in 2018, 2021 or was deleted from the internet by APC supporters is false. The original video was posted on Twitter on October 2.

Why was it displaying an old date?

That’s the fault of the Google algorithm. The previous update wasn’t like that. We have noticed that this is common on videos when you use Google image search to look for videos. It tries to show you someone who has posted similar things, and it will then associate the post with an old tweet. When you click it, you probably won’t find it.

If you doubt this, make a video of yourself, post it on Twitter and use the Google image search to find it.
