According to Wazobia, Ekiti state kings were issued a query on Thursday, 12 March, giving them 3 days to explain why they should not be removed for shunning government functions since August 2019.

MandyNews learned that the sixteen traditional rulers in Ekiti State, also know as Pelupelu Obas, had sued the state Governor, challenging his appointment of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, as chairman of the State Traditional Council.
Reports also said Fayemi had already stopped local government for paying the kings.
At the time of this report, the Obas are said to be in an emergency meeting at the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, reports says.
