A fire broke out in the early hours of today at the Akere spare parts market in Olodi Apapa, Lagos State. The cause of the fire and any casualties have not yet been confirmed.
Sadly, the market had already been gutted by the time shop owners arrived this morning, leaving millions of Naira’s worth of goods destroyed.
This is not the first time that the Akere Spare Parts Market has been affected by fire; in the past, the market located in Ajegunle was also burned down.
The situation is currently being investigated by authorities, and it is unclear when the market will be operational again.
For many shop owners and traders, this is a devastating loss as their livelihoods depend on the market.
