Former Oyo Governor Alao Akala Is Dead At 70

Former Governor of Oyo State and a candidate of the ADP in 2019 Governorship, Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, a former Nigerian police officer who was prosecuted by the EFCC over alleged N11.5b fraud has died at age 70.

(MANDY NEWS) — Former Governor of Oyo State and a candidate of the ADP in 2019 Governorship, Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, a former Nigerian police officer who was prosecuted by the EFCC over alleged N11.5b fraud has died at age 70.

Alao Akala died peacefully Wednesday morning, Seyi Mankinde said in a statement.

He said; “I join the good people of Oyo State to mourn the passing of a former Governor of our dear state, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, which sad event took place today. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
