Koforidua, Eastern Region – A shocking incident has occurred in the small town of Koforidua, where a man, Abeiku, has been arrested for the murder of his wife.
The tragic event occurred as a result of a minor marital misunderstanding that escalated out of control.
According to the police report, Abeiku had attempted to poison his wife’s food in an effort to end her life.
However, his plan failed as his wife discovered the poison and refused to consume the food.
Despite this, the misunderstanding between the couple continued to escalate, with Abeiku making threats towards his wife’s life.
Unfortunately, these threats were not taken seriously by the victim, who believed that her husband would never harm her.
The incident occurred on a quiet evening when the couple was at home together. Abeiku, in a fit of rage, strangled his wife to death.
According to Starr FM, the victim, whose name has not been disclosed, had moved to live with her mother in the Begoro area of the Eastern Region after her marriage with the suspect, Abeiku, fell apart for a year. The couple had two children together. However, the victim returned to her husband’s home after the situation had largely been addressed.
The victim’s remains have now been transported by police to a mortuary, pending more investigation.
A manhunt is currently underway in Accra for the suspected commercial driver who travels between Koforidua and Kasoa. The victim’s uncle, Wofa Kwasi, stated that he had intervened when the couple’s disagreement grew worse in the days leading up to Christmas.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning. Many are questioning how a minor misunderstanding could lead to such a horrific outcome.
