Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice have been detained and charged in the United Kingdom with organ trafficking.

The UK’s DailyMail was the first to disclose the arrest of Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu and Ike Ekweremadu on suspicion of planning to harvest a child’s organs.

They have reportedly been placed on remand and are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

The lawmaker and his wife are both accused of conspiring to arrange or enable the travel of another individual with the intention of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting.

This week, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka, were arrested in the UK for plotting to harvest the organs of a child.

Ekweremadu and his wife have been kept in detention even though the victim’s identity, gender, and location have not yet been made public.
