More than 5600 prisoners are set to be released in Morocco amid coronavirus spread

The king of Morocco, Mohammed VI on Sunday set more than 5,600 prisoners to be released in a way to avoid contagion in the country’s overcrowded jails.

Among the 5,654 detainees that would be freed were selected based in their age, health, good conduct and length of detention, said he justice ministry.
