Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Becomes First Woman DG Of World Trade Organisation
A development economist and former Finance Minister of Nigeria, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala becomes first woman Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO DG).
The former managing director of the World Bank becomes the first African and woman to emerge WTO DG defected Yoo Myung-hee from Republic Korea.
Starting on 28 October 2020 she would replace Roberto Azevêdo as Director-General for a first four-year term.
