BORNO, Nigeria (Mandy News) — Nigeria’s Air Force has confirmed it lost contact with one of its light attack jets, which disappeared from radar screens Wednesday, March 31, 2021, during a fight with Boko Haram.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet reported that an Alpha-Jet took off on Wednesday on an interdiction mission in support of ground troops, but it disappeared from the radar screen at 5:08 p.m. The aircraft disappeared in Born, a state in north-eastern Nigeria while going to support the ground fighters.

“Details of the whereabouts of the aircraft or likely cause of contact loss are still sketchy but will be relayed to the general public as soon as they become clear. Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts are ongoing.”
