In an alarming incident that has provoked widespread condemnation, a Nigerian landlord has been caught on video unleashing his dog on a tenant over unpaid rent. The video, which has since gone viral, was recorded and shared on TikTok by a neighbor named Favourite Emmie.

Dispute over Unpaid Rent

The tenant, a young man, reportedly owed the landlord 45,000 Nigerian Naira (approximately $110). The landlord, living in the same building, confronted the tenant over this unpaid debt, resulting in a heated argument.

“The landlord, in a fit of rage, pushed the young man in the chest, escalating the situation to a level that was both dangerous and distressing,” said a source, who asked to remain anonymous.

The Dog Attack

What happened next has caused shock and outrage. The landlord, apparently having lost his temper, decided to unleash his dog on the tenant.

“In the video, the young man can be seen backing away in fear as the dog is let loose,” the source added.

Many viewers of the video have expressed their concern that this wasn’t the first time the landlord had used his dog to intimidate. The young man, while fending off the dog, claimed he had been attacked before.

A Recurring Nuisance

Several neighbors in the area have raised concerns about the dog, citing it as a consistent source of disturbance due to its continuous barking, especially during the night.

“The dog has been a problem for us in the area, creating noise disturbances even when we are asleep,” a neighbor reported.

The 8-minute long video concludes with the dog being beaten by other tenants, who manage to return it back to its cage.
