Pastor Noah Abraham of Ekiti State’s Christ High Commission Ministry has stated why he charges his congregants N310,000 to make heaven.
Police recently summoned the pastor for allegedly collecting money from members of his congregation in exchange for a promise to send them to heaven after the rapture.
Abraham is alleged to have detained over 40 people in his church at Araromi-Ugbesi in Omuo-Oke, Ekiti State, in what he termed as training for the rapture of Jesus Christ.
Some of his members of the congregation are claimed to have sold their valuables in the hopes of meeting Jesus while camping at his church, while others are believed to have abandoned their families who refused to live with them.
“Truly, I told my congregation to pay N310,000,” he told BBC Yoruba. “I made the proclamation when I realized that my members’ problems were escalating.”
- “I did it because I got the authority of God who called me to practise for all that want to serve the Lord with their whole heart.
- I have never received any payment yet from any member of the church, and the Ekiti State Police has intervened in the matter.
- I was called by the police for Investigation and all the members of the church were there and all of them took notes of what happened.“
