The News: Prior to the 2023 general elections, the biggest opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) completed the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms for all elected offices, Daily Trust reports.

At the time of this writing, 17 presidential candidates had purchased nomination forms to run for the party’s presidential ticket.

- Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State;
- Udom Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom State;
- Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State;
- Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State;
- Nwachukwu Anakwenze, a United States-based medical practitioner;
- Dele Momodu, the media mogul.
