Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has been re-elected a sixth term as president, extending his 35 years in office.
Museveni who has been President of Uganda since 1986 defected 58.6.% of the vote while his nearest rival Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, took 34.8%, the election commission said.
At the time of this report, the opposition party the National Unity Platform party and his candidate rejects the results.
