The video of Ronaldo interview with Piers Morgan goes viral.
Cristiano Ronaldo has openly stated that he thinks Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag have tried to get rid of him from the club.
The 37-year-old professional football player from Portugal claims he feels “betrayed” by the club.
Ronaldo disclosed the truth in an interview with Piers Morgan after being forced to miss Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage due to illness.
Moments from Morgan’s world-exclusive conversation with the United star were made public on Sunday night, an hour after the encounter’s specifics were made public.
Since then, the video has gained widespread popularity across all social media channels and, within hours of being released, received millions of views.
Ronaldo had planned to leave United during the summer transfer window in order to play in the Champions League but was prevented from doing so by the team, which frequently emphasized that he had a significant role to play in the plans of new manager Ten Hag.
He was unable to join the squad this season because of personal obligations, missing the club’s preseason trips to Thailand and Australia.
Ronaldo once stated in August that he would undoubtedly expose the truth at some point.
He admitted in his interview with TalkTV on Sunday that he felt “betrayed” by Manchester United and insisted that both Ten Hag and senior staffers at Old Trafford had tried to push him away.
When asked if United was attempting to remove him, Ronaldo responded to Piers Morgan Uncensored as follows:
- “Yes. Not only the coach, but two or three other guys around the club.”
When asked if they were top executives, Ronaldo added:
- “Yes. I felt betrayed. Honestly, I shouldn’t say that, I don’t know. But I don’t care, people should listen.
- “I feel betrayed and I felt that some people didn’t want me here, not only this year but last year too.”
