Olanrewaju Ganiu Fasasi aka Sound Sultan — the Nigerian afrobeat singer who sang mathematics early-two thousand — died Sunday following a long time battle with cancer. He was 44.
Sultan’s brother, Dr. Kayode Fasasi, confirmed her death. Efe Omorogbe, 2 Baba manager also issued a statement on social media and via Twitter, saying, “rest in glory my brother, Sound Sultan you’ll forever in our hearts. Allah gives.”
Sound Sultan passed on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 44 after a battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
He is survived by a wife, three children, and his siblings.
