At least 59 people were killed and over 70 injured in a devastating suicide bombing at a mosque in the northwestern city of Peshawar, Pakistan on January 30, 2023.
The attack took place during Monday prayers at the mosque, which was considered to be one of the most secure religious sites in the region.
According to reports from Reuters, most of the dead were police officials.
The attacker managed to breach the high security measures in place, detonating his explosives amidst a crowded gathering of worshippers. The death toll from the attack is expected to rise as many of the injured are in critical condition.
