Legendary performer Tina Turner, globally renowned as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, passed away on May 24, following a protracted illness. Her death occurred at her residence in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland, confirmed by her spokesperson, Bernard Doherty.

“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” said Doherty in an official statement released via Deadline.

At 83, Turner left behind an incredible legacy, marked by an array of chart-topping singles, groundbreaking achievements, and an influence that shaped the world of music for decades.

Turner’s dynamic discography is studded with hit singles, including “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “Private Dancer,” “The Best,” and “GoldenEye.” Over her illustrious career, she sold over 180 million records globally, shaping the very fabric of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Her contributions were repeatedly recognized with prestigious awards. She garnered a staggering 12 Grammy Awards, which included three Grammy Hall of Fame awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Turner made history as the first Black artist and the first woman to feature on the cover of Rolling Stone. Furthermore, she was a two-time inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Her initial induction came in 1991 alongside Ike Turner, with her solo career earning her a second induction in 2021.
