Mercy Chinwo‘s brand of changing souls, vocals and singing ministry has captured the heart of a generation of young women, and she’s often cited as a role model by many Christians. She was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers state in 1990, and she got involved in music at a very early age, being a member of the children’s choir in her church and transitioning to the adult choir prior to launching her musical career. She released her first single, “Testimony”, in 2015, and “Igwe” a year later. In 2017, she was signed to Gospel Music Label EeZee Conceptz.
Despite still being a gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo began exploring other projects such as acting in Yvonne Nelson‘s film: House of Gold starring alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel and Omawumi among others.
Mercy’s career has gone from strength to strength as a gospel artist. At the 2018 CLIMAX Awards, she was awarded the Best Gospel Artiste. In 2019, at the maiden edition of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST 2019), she also took home an award in the categories Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love).
