A new video has emerged showing the exact moment a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan.
The video reveals widespread damage in Hualien, close to where the earthquake started, with some buildings leaning dangerously to one side.
The shaking also caused landslides, covering nearby villages in dust.
Rescue teams are working hard to help those affected, and sadly, four people have been confirmed dead.
This earthquake is the strongest one to hit Taiwan in the last 25 years.
The earthquake happened during the busy morning rush hour, causing buildings to collapse and making the ground shake violently.
It even triggered tsunami warnings in Japan and the Philippines. The epicenter of the quake was near the eastern city of Hualien, where the damage was most severe.
The strong shaking was felt as far away as Taipei, which is about 100 miles from Hualien.
Aftershocks continued for hours, and some people in Shanghai, China, 500 miles north of Taiwan, reported feeling the earthquake too.
On TV, images showed buildings with severe damage, some leaning dangerously to the side. In Hualien, where about 300,000 people live, work and school were suspended, and many lost power.
Train and subway services across Taiwan were stopped, and roads were blocked by rocks and debris.
Although a tsunami warning was issued for Japan and the Philippines, it was lifted later in the day. However, a small tsunami wave was detected along the coast of Yonaguni island in Japan.
This earthquake shows how powerful and unpredictable nature can be. It shows us how important it is to be prepared for emergencies like this and to help each other when they happen.
