In a shocking turn of events, a train on the Warri-Itakpe route derailed on Sunday, January 22, leaving over 300 passengers stranded.

This incident occurs less than a month after passengers were abducted from a train station in Igueben, Edo State, bringing the safety and security of the state’s railway system into question.

According to eyewitnesses, the train was travelling at a high speed when it suddenly veered off the tracks, causing several cars to derail. Passengers were left stranded for several hours as rescue and recovery efforts were underway.
