Since the beginning of 2022, there has been a lot of discussion about Genevieve Nnaji. The actress is most known for her movie “Sharon Stone,” which was released in 1999 and features Omotola Jalade.
Her name means “woman of the race,” which also means God’s blessing in French.
Genevieve grew raised in Lagos, Nigeria, but was born in Mbaise, Imo State. She grew up in a middle-class home, the fourth of eight children, with a father who worked as an engineer and a mother who worked as a nursery school teacher.
At the age of eight, Genny began her acting career as a child actor in the popular television serial opera Ripples.
With the film Most Wanted, she was introduced to Nigeria’s growing film industry at the age of 19.
The Nigerian government recognized her contributions to Nollywood by inducting her into the Order of the Federal Republic in 2011.
She was profiled with several celebrities and business professionals in two new books by the publisher and Editor in Chief of Yes International! magazine, Azuh Arinze, in 2020, after spending decades in the film industry.
On April 19, 2022, her best friend Rita Dominic and Fidelis Anosike, the publisher of the Daily Times, had their traditional wedding in Imo State, Rita Dominic’s state of origin, but Genevieve was absent.
What Happened To Genevieve Nnaji?
On May 10, 2022, Gistlover, a Nigerian anonymous blog on Instagram, wrote a post for his followers, asking them to pray for Genevieve Nnaji, who was hospitalized in a psychiatric hold due to mental health conditions.
The Rumormonger tagged the legendary actress on her Instagram page, where she deleted all her Instagram posts, which probably means something has been going on with her.
Genevieve was said to be currently receiving treatment in Houston, Texas, in the United States.

- “According to information reaching Vawulence headquarters, the actress is currently down with ment issue and currently taking treatment in Houston Texas, Genevieve has been admitted for psychosis in a hospital in Texas(Name withheld) she went Loco some months ago.
