The ongoing capture of Ogbonna Orji, child of Sen. Theodore Orji, over illegal tax avoidance, has literally nothing to do with child of ex-VP Atiku Abubakar.
The previous Abia senator has been under examinations by the EFCC, for illegal tax avoidance exercises, which was found to have been helped out through his children.
The EFCC had been on the trail of autos purportedly purchased by the children, and last Friday the vehicles were followed to a club in Abuja, where agents held up persistently during that time to capture the proprietors – Ogbonna and his companion, Kelvin Ilonah.
They were captured at about 5am on Saturday, and they drove agents to their three-level flat, where records recovered demonstrated that it was leased at a rate of N13million for every annum.
They have so far given valuable data to the EFCC, which is helping in examinations. It ought to be clarified that the EFCC never “pursued” Atiku’s children, nor was Atiku’s child captured by the EFCC.
