As the country, Ghana reached more than 5000 cases of the deadly coronavirus 32 Ghanaian nurses and midwives have also tested positive COVID-19 while hundreds of their colleagues are also in quarantine following exposure to the virus.
It was revealed on Wednesday by The President of Ghana Registered and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Mrs Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo who stated that over 250 nurses and midwives are currently under quarantine and are being managed at different levels.
“At the moment, we have 32 nurses and midwives who have been infected by the coronavirus. We are reaching out to them and we hope that things will get better,”.
Ghana surpassed Nigeria cases of coronavirus to become the highest in sub-Saharan Africa on Monday after carrying out 164,452 tests in the country with 5,408 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
