In case you didn’t know, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has given us a wealth of knowledge on Arab culture.

It directly reveals to me the kindness and incredible generosity of Arabs.

Even if many people were unhappy with what transpired during the World Cup lifting, a lot of good lessons could be learned from it.

So, let’s move on to today’s news.

According to the latest news in sports, a millionaire named Ahmed Al Barwani offered $1 million to Lionel Messi for the Arab robe/bisht he wore while lifting the World Cup.

On Sunday night, following a 3-3 tie in regulation, Leo Messi, an Argentine professional footballer, led his country to a 4-2 triumph over France in a penalty shootout.

Messi has never done this before. By winning the World Cup, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner cemented his place among the greatest players in the history of the game.

Messi wore a black and gold robe as a tribute to the event, which was hosted by Qatar.

The bisht is a symbol of riches and monarchy in Arab countries, and Qatar wanted to add a special flourish to the trophy lift as it was the first Muslim country to host a World Cup.

However, according to a report in the British newspaper The Telegraph, it was an act that ruined the greatest World Cup moment in history.

Messi’s robe is being opposed by an Omari lawyer, who wants the best footballer to give it back to the Arab nation instead of keeping it.

The 35-year-old has been offered a substantial quantity of money by Ahmed Al Barwani, an Omani legislator, to ensure that it remains in the region.

The wealthy Arab made the offer in a tweet seen by Mandy News, in which he states:

  • “From the Sultanate of Oman I congratulate you for winning the World Cup Qatar 2022″The Arabic bisht, a symbol of chivalry and wisdom. I’m offering you a million dollars (£829,000) in return for that bisht.”

In a conversation with The National, Al Barwani explained his goals for the robe.

He emphasized the value of “commemorating” a proud occasion while watching Messi and his colleagues celebrate a thrilling victory inside Lusail Stadium.

He stated: “When the Emir of Qatar presented Messi the bisht, I was in the stadium to witness it live.

“During this time, the world was informed that we were present and that this was our culture.

“It will be shown to remember that proud moment, to let us relive it, and to also remind us that we can (do anything),” the author said.

Because it covered the Argentina jersey, Messi’s bisht drew criticism. Former Argentine defender Pablo Zabaleta, who covered the game for BBC Sport, was visibly upset.

He stated: “Whoa, why? There is no justification for that.” Officials from Qatar justified the choice, emphasizing that it was a “regional celebration” rather than one for their own country.
