A man has been arrested after three people were killed in an Alabama church shooting.
During a potluck luncheon at the church where he periodically attended services, the septuagenarian is reported to have fatally shot three elderly people.
Captain Shane Ware of the police department says one of the attendees overpowered the suspect and detained him until police arrived.
Captain Shane Ware of the Vestavia Hills Police Department announced at a Friday press conference that Walter Rainey, 84, was found dead at the scene of the shooting in Vestavia Hills and Sarah Yeager, 75, died after being rushed to the hospital.
The suspect, as well as the three victims, were all white, according to the authorities.
The suspect’s name has yet to be revealed by the authorities.
