At least 25 people have been reportedly killed by armed robbers who attacked five commercial banks in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State on Thursday.

In a live stream video sighted by MANDY NEWS, the videographer says that the robbers arrived at the banks with expensive vehicles and sophisticated weapons.

The dozens of able-minded men were said to have operated for over two hours, carting away an unspecified amount of money.

The brave Esan boy who was making the video further explained that the robbers were more than twenty guys who overpowered both security men and vigilantes.

While coming out of the bank with sack bags loaded with money, one of the robbers, who seems to be the leader, shot sporadically into the air and engaged the police in a gun duel before they fled the scene, moving with convoy.

According to the information gathered by Mandy News, the robbers were said to have attacked a police division in the area during the incident.

So far, 25 people have been counted dead as of the time of writing this report. Bodies are said to have been deposited at St.Camillus Hospital’s Mortuary.

The Edo Police Command spokesperson, Kontongs Bello, who confirmed the robbery, said they are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the affected banks and number of casualties.
