Primate Elijah Ayodele’s confident prediction for Liverpool’s victory over Luton was proven incorrect.
The cleric, leading the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, had publicly anticipated a comfortable win for the Reds, which was widely circulated in a video before the game.
“An easy win for Liverpool is on the horizon. They will triumph over Luton with a substantial goal difference,” Primate Ayodele asserted.
Despite his prediction, the match at Kenilworth Road was anything but routine for Liverpool.
The game, which was initially lacking in action, saw Liverpool struggle to capitalize on their chances, with Darwin Nunez hitting the woodwork in the first half’s most notable opportunity.
Luton’s confidence grew as the match progressed, culminating in a late goal by Tahith Chong in the 80th minute, which nearly sealed a historic win for the home side.
