On September 26, a kid using a wheelchair was killed in a shooting at a school in Barreiras, western Bahia in Brazil.

Geane da Silva Brito, who is 19 years old, was the victim. Police claim that a 14-year-old boy came into the school brandishing a gun and started shooting at the students.

Shots were fired at the shooter, who attends the school as well, who was then transported to the Hospital Geral do Oeste by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu)

The identity of the person who fired the shot that injured the shooter is unknown to police. His state of health is not mentioned either.

A video published by Brazilian media outlets and obtained by Mandy News shows the students running around.

The Suspect

The youngster who attacked Colégio Municipal Eurides Sant’Anna in Barreiras, western Bahia, with a gun used his father’s handgun, a retired sub-lieutenant of the Military Police, in the killing of a classmate who was in a wheelchair. 

In the home where the family resides, the pistol was hidden beneath a mattress.

The young man who carried out the attack used a machete as well, and it happened early on Monday. He was shot four times, and is now being treated in a hospital while being held. It has not yet been revealed who shot him.
